North American Championships—July 2016, Orlando, Florida

Congratulations to the Murray Academy dancers, their parents and our teachers and trainers on the great success of our dancers at this year’s North American championship! We would especially like to congratulate our newest National Champion, Brigid O’Connor, Girls U11A, on winning her competition (with a nearly perfect score of 875 out of 900)!

Of our 44 soloists, 77% recalled (top half) and 27% placed high enough to qualify for the 2017 World Championships in Dublin (12 dancers). In addition, we had 7 dancers in the top 5 and 10 in the top 10.

We are so proud of our dancers for their goal setting, work ethic, and ability to perform under pressure. What amazing girls!

World Championships—March 2016, Glasgow, Scotland

Congratulations to all of the Murray Academy dancers, their parents and the teachers on our results at this year’s World Championships!! And a special congratulations to our two podium placers — Brigid O’Connor, 2nd in U11 and Kate Babcock, 5th in U18! This year 18 of our 20 qualifiers attended. Our students earned four World medals (three more than any other New England Irish dance school in girls’ competitions) and four additional recall medals, giving us a total of 8 individual medals, the highest total in New England for girls! We are proud of having 45% in the top 25-35% (recall) and 67% in the top half of their competitions. With competitions that were between 140-190 competitors, all at 3 at a time for the first two rounds, these are amazing results!! We are so proud of our girls!
